dear mr. suresh kumar,
i dont have words to praise you. your command in english helps us to assimilate the feelings of ir music without listening to it. excellent stuff and you provide the written orchestration of kadulaku mariyadhai back ground music.
keep going. thanks a lot for bringing out such an excellent review.

hey mr. suresh,
now i listened to the music simultaneously reading ur notes. you are a genius, no more words. it is mind boggling to see your blog and its interpretation of my raja sir's music so minutely and frame by frame. really you are a genius. hats off to you

logesh - thankyou very much. i can understand how much u love IR's music

Suresh, the piece where the two families unite is simply the best melody score I have heard in my life..When I ripped the BGM I named it as "Vasanthapravagam"..That's the feeling I get...The other piece that's so apt is when Vijay drops Shalini in the bus stand...The synth piano flourishes in that scene can only be done by our dear "Mottaiyan"...Very nice review by yourselves as well..

Shankar - thanks for ur comments and 'Vasanthapravagam' nice name...

Awesome Suresh!!!
I have never come across such a dissection of music, and especially the BGM that I cherish. It's similar to move by move analysis of a chess game by Kasparov. You simply rock!
I have seen the malayalam version of KM, did not see any life in that movie. IR is the difference, as you have dissected.

Keep doing your BGM analysis.

Can you please consider dissecting the BGM of the movie "Mannan"?

Rajmohan - Thanks. I am planning for an analysis on Guna background score. anyqay will chk out 'Mannan' also.

I randomly ran across your blog and have to say - amazing job..I always wondered why arent ppl concenrating on BGM's. Raja has done so much work and you have analyzed it so well. For a moment it felt like reading my own thoughts..Hats of to u dude...superb job..Keep those coming..I know u have a list - one of them I recently came across was the scene in Mouna Ragam where Karthik jumps from the jeep in the traffic light escaping from the cops and running- mind blowing violin piece!!

P.S. Suresh Kumar said...

bgm_lover - Thanks. Yeah, i know that piece. It is a fast running violin piece aptly sounding the rhythm in the action on the visuals

Quite an ordinary review with hardly any technical analysis in it.
