suresh, you r not the same after ur review on UO!

  6. I meant you captured exactly what I thought when I heard the album. I can't remember any of the songs now, and I don't feel any impetus to scroll over to that album again.

  7. Anon - Maybe I am not. I don't know.

  9. Suresh,

LOL ... Couldnt have expressed it better ... even a 3000 word review might not have conveyed that. I did the same actually, listened to it once, didnt feel like listening again. In fact, forgot all about it.

    Amazing REVIEW!!

    Vinayak

  11. Am sure u'll take back ur words.

Having reviewed so many dud albums previously in ur blog, Saroja doesn't deserve such an insulting note IMHO.

    Well, opinion differs...

  12. Krishna, Vinayak - Thanks.

Dhanasekhar - Yes it is. UO rocks. Haven't heard 'Dhanam' songs yet...

Vignesh - I agree with you that I have reviewed many dud albums. I never thought my short review would be considered as an insult to the soundtrack, it is just that I didn't like it and I was lazy to explain why.

  18. I wouldn't agree with jazaay; personally I think I prefer satyam to saroja. Maybe it's because I had some expectations for saroja, and didnt even know there's a movie called sathyam. But I find myself regularly listening to two songs from sathyam (while hating two others), but not wanting to listen to a single song from saroja. Dunno, maybe I'll start liking them when the movie comes out and SunTV starts playing the video songs.

Don't you guys like 'Dosth Bada Dosth'? It's a cool hip track, rite?

  20. To be exact, the review of suresh for saroja, fits what I was thinking when I heard Sathyam.

Unlike kannan, I was having some expectations from HJ on Sathyam. The audio has been sold for 65 lacs it seems.

And to be frank, Sathyam, to me, is the worst album of his.

As for Saroja, I agree with kanna that I may begin to like them once they have been picturised (hopefully).

  21. Kanna, Jazzay - Satyam and Saroja songs will definitely be a hit after the release of the movie, because of the repeated playing in Music channels and FMs... And I too may hum some of these songs later when I listen it in FM or watch it in music channels... but for now, there is so much great music yet to be heard in this world...

  22. jaazay :

When I first read your comment, I thought "That can't be right, there are definitely albums that are worse!".
But as I tried to think of one, I realized I couldnt pick one that clearly loses to this album. I'd never given thought to it, but now that I do I think Sathyam probably is one of his worst. I've gotten tired of the songs he does with Bombay Jayashree, both of his recent albums have the same style of song for her. I personally think, and I'm sure many might disagree, that bheema and totti jaya rank near sathyam as his worst.

All the same, I'm still more impressed with Sathyam than Saroja. I think Yuvan's worst is much worse than Harris', and Yuvan's best is much better than Harris'.

p.s. Isn't it interesting, Suresh, that what is probably your shortest post ever has generated the most comments in the recent past? ( I think pretty close to your post on Nyman-Yuvan connection on the other blog. Oru velai Yuvan-ai pathi pesinaale ithanai comment varumo? Hmmm..)
    :D

  23. Some of Harris' worst that rank near Sathyam:

    Thotti Jaya
Kumaran (telugu dub, together with the awful lyrics in the Chaiyya Chaiyya clone song)
    Arul

Bheema is passable and I would not rank it near Sathyam, eventhough none of the songs are my favourites, they are hummable.

  25. Suresh ,
After two listenings of bits and pieces , i have the same opinions about Saroja . Ditto with Sakkara katti , but it has listenable , cool ones .

  26. Kanaa - That is really funny. It is generating lot of comment when I write something against Yuvan. And this best, worst thing is little bit confusing, I feel that the songs in those albums you mentioned don't generate any interest in the listener's to listen to the song again and again....

Avi - Quite contradicting statement, Music of Saroja and my review on it, cannot be 'rocking' togather....

Ramki - I do like Sakkarakatti.
