Check out Dharan's new album, Laadam. Didn't even know about the album until I saw it by accident on some lyrics website. I remember you enjoyed Sivi, so have a listen.

Kanna - I will. Thanks for the link. I knew about it. Actually I am yet to catch up with lot of recent Tamil soundtracks esp the much talked about Venilla Kabadi Kuzhu... When i go to music stores I don't find any of these CD's on the shelves...
Yep, I haven't seen any publicity for this movie at all, don't know anything about it. Music stores only seem to stock the popular albums by the ARRs and HJs and YSRs. Even Uliyin Osai wasn't exactly easy to find, until it started getting some good reviews.
hey dude have u heard ARR new album connections ???
chk arr official site for more info
its really spellbound man

Amjath - Yeah. I am aware of 'Connections'. Yet to check the site.
Mr.Kanna and Mr.Sureshkumar, I listened to the soundtrack of Laadam but it fails to make an impression. Dharan's Parijatham and sivi were excellent. This one sorry.
Yes. Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, no doubt, musically excellent. Yet we have to see it with the picturisation. Lesa parakudhu and Pada Pada, Karthik is too good in both. Un parvayil by Haricharan another one to mention.
MD, Selvaganesh, who makes his debut in this film, himself a reknowned percussionist and son of Mr.Vikku Vinayakram (Gatam vidhwan).
Sorry it is Uyiril edho by Haricharan.

K.Raghavan - Yet to check out Laadam. I am surprised that I couldn't find 'Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu' CD's in music stores... I have been looking for it for past one month... but I listened to the songs online... Indeed a very good debut by Selvaganesh...
Amjath - I saw the trailer. Liked the background music...
check Laadam's "siru thodudhalile" a beautiful mesmerizing song. Also "atlantic oceanuku" song. On the whole a very good album by Dharan. Also check "ennai theriyuma" songs by dharan or achu!?? not sure..this album has got some fantastic numbers. Only "lesa parakudhu" is different and instantly catchy in vennila kabadi kuzhu album. Other songs just pass muster.

Here is the other promo, Suresh. It has bit of the 'Maula' song. Sounds very good!
Arun - thanks for the link. I love it.
Suresh: Sivamani's new album called "Mahaleela" is out and it's stunning. Must listen!
Arun - Thanks for the info. I was eagerly waiting for the release of 'Mahaleela' CD. Will check in the music store...

Masakkali from Delhi-6. It's damn catchy. Love that prelude and the humming, especially!
Laadam's music is mediocre at best. I just mentioned it here because I remember u liked Sivi, and I myself am a fan of his two previous albums. Siru Thoduthalile is ok, and Atlantic Ocean is rather lacklustre. Ganster and Makke are terrible. Do u remember Suresh, when u made a post about liking Dr Burn's rap, there was a Malaysian blogger who commented saying people in Malaysia are tired of this tamil rap? The two songs Gangster and Makka are the prime examples of the way Tamil Rap is used in Malaysian albums. Oh Nenje from Sivi had some intelligent use of the rap, and Dharan looked like he knew how to handle rap phrases. These two tracks from Laadam, I'm not even sure if Dharan had any input. They sound exactly like the work Dr Burn etc do in Malaysia. Gangster seems like a rehash of Yogi B's and Dr Burn's album Vallavan. Not sure if you've heard it, it has much better songs than these two tracks.
I really hope Dharan gets a mainstream movie like Parijatham soon. I liked his work in both that movie and Sivi, and perhaps the presence of a slightly more visible production will restrain nonsense like Gangster and Makka.
Kannan - Thanks for your Laadam review. Yet to listen to this one. Dharan definitely is one composer to look out for.
Arun - I did hear that one from Delhi-6 last week. Interesting.
