  2. People talk about how SdM is an introduction of the Rahman sound to the West. Leave aside the west.
I have not heard anything like this before ! Rahman has not resorted to this kind of techno frippery and display of a diverse musical palette in kollywood or bollywood.
Blame it on the director ? I 'm guessing that's the way it is.
Indeed , Mr. Raaman has set our dreams on fire.

  3. Amjath - Indeed.

Vijay - Yes, unlike many I find Rahman's work in SdM special...

  4. In many ways, this is a recognition to the man for what he is.. I mean
unwavering dedication and commitment, modesty even while making big, providing a level playing field for new and raw talent and above all his Originality.. i.e., At the end of the day, the sole reason in my view why Rahman is celebrated is due to his own style of composing (As in when you hear a new song from him, people can identify this is a "Rahman" song or when they hear other songs they say "This is like Rahman"; ) Its not easy to come to this level; It happens only once or twice in a generation.

So, My Salutes to a 'original' musician.
    With Love
    Vicky

  8. for once, i am not looking at whether the album deserves it or not, but as such, it is a moment of great pride for our country. and Vicky has rightly put it.

  10. Aakarsh - According to me, it is not the album, but the score for the movie that truly deserves this recognition... It really sounded so right for the visuals...

Oh God..Why wasnt Uliyin Osai nominated? I hate anybody who award A.R.Rahman.

Your awards are faaar better than Golden Globes and Oscars. I love you because you didnt award A.R.Rahman. And more because you awarded Raja and nominated just about everyone from Raja's family.

    Keep up your Raja sycophancy..LOL
And keep living in your RAJA WELL :-))))))))
